Andrea Barrios is a new generation of visual artist. She represents the crossing of cultural borders and the translation of pop culture.
Her art reflects both the diaspora of the Latin American immigrant experience and the complexity 21st Century womanhood. The new face of the nation is brown and Barrios explodes that demographic with the vivid colors of a Mexican blanket. Her works both hold the viewer and propel them forward into a new era of great American art.
She paints and writes in her studio space in Portland, Oregon with her two-year-old daughter coloring at her feet.
